After all, beings from the vast extents of the universe (as well as local beings who have access to the CW website) picked out challenges from Season 1 as their favorites, thus subjecting another group of beauties and geeks to suffer through what I had to do three seasons ago. In 1842…
Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue. At least according to an e-mail that I received on Monday, which was Columbus Day. (What a coincidence…) I opted to take a look back into history and discovered that the events of 1842 included:
March 17: Indians land in Ohio, a 12 mile area in Upper Sandusky
August 9: U.S.-Canada border defined by Webster-Ashburton Treaty
December 19: U.S. recognizes independence of Hawaii
If Columbus actually landed on U.S. soil that year, he was waaaaaay behind schedule.
S4, Episode 3: I’m too sexy for my… skin
Everyone seems to be getting more comfortable with each other now, though Sam still sticks out like a sore thumb. He says the guys just “gotta do it” and he’s doing it more than the rest of them combined. There’s self-confidence and then there’s cocky—I can’t recall seeing any beauties being truly cocky before. I’m trying to put a finger on it… he’s a male beauty and he’s trying to put as much distance between him and the other guys as possible. I think before this point, there was always some degree of interaction between the beauties and the geeks. It wasn’t always harmonious—far from it—but it didn’t seem like anyone was trying to blow off so many people all at once. I don’t like it. Not at all. S4, Episode 2: Vanilla Ice would have been proud
Let’s see if I can whip out a quick two-fer so I’ll be ready to present a recap for Episode 4 (coming up tomorrow night on the CW!). Woo hoo! Continue reading “S4, Episode 2: Vanilla Ice would have been proud”
Season 4, Episode 1: This is evolution?
I know, I know, this review is really late, but it’s not my fault—this season is a pain in the butt. It’s not that I haven’t found the time to watch the tapes, though that certainly hasn’t helped, but there are way too many contestants on the show this season. 10, count ’em, 10 couples in the mansion. It makes for a little more drama and several more episodes (and shitloads more money for Ashton Kutcher and friends), so whaddya gonna do? Jot down a few notes, quips and observations, that’s what! … Ahem. Where was I? Continue reading “Season 4, Episode 1: This is evolution?”
A sign from above
Okay, so I’m a little behind with my Beauty and the Geek reviews. I managed to watch the first two-hour premiere today, but I didn’t have time to get anything written down (Lord knows I’ll have to do some research to figure out all their names… talking about how half of them have had boob jobs—geeks included—can only fill up so many paragraphs, ya know…). But I had to take off after watching the show to visit someone in the hospital. Continue reading “A sign from above”
